Benefiting from a southerly aspect, the Old Sawmills is full of natural light from all aspects and has, as all first time visitors comment - “a great feel to the place”
We have a little over 3000 square feet of floor space plus plenty of storage for timber/materials etc in a separate barn next door. Ample parking is available for residents and guests in the Fortescue Walks car park opposite.
During the renovation of the building, particular attention has been paid to energy efficiency and economy of operation, utilizing the latest high efficiency insulation materials and glazing. Heating is via wood burning stoves in each room which are of course kept supplied with fuel by our furniture makers
Whilst modernizing the building to make it fit for our purpose we have also tried to retain as much of the original features of the building to reflect its history - this is after all part of what makes it such a special place to be in.
Arranged over three floors we have two studios, kitchen, cloakroom and gallery on the ground floor, machine room on the first floor and four studios/workshops on the second floor.
